Some India people will just stare at foreign tourists, and you will be an easy target for annoying touts and beggars for because of your polite behavior.

If you are a western female than in many small cities in India, men will be pushing their mobile phone towards your face and take pictures, of course without asking. You have an option to either ignore or turn your head.

Dirt, garbage, and insects abound in the smaller cities in India. In fact, many times even in big metro cities such as New Delhi there are unhygienic conditions everywhere. For example, at the moment there are were more than 1500 cases of dengue fever in New Delhi despite Government all efforts to clean the city and Commonwealth games were only one month ago.
