Google Launched Free AI Programme for 5000 Indian Founders

Google Just Launched a Free AI Programme for 5,000 Indian Founders: Applications Close This Week

While the rest of the world watches American AI giants chase billion-dollar deals, something quietly important is happening in Bengaluru. Google has decided to bet directly on India’s next generation of AI founders, and it’s giving away the training for free.

What Has Just Been Announced

On 8 May 2026, Google for Startups and Antler India formally launched a programme called Google for Startups Immersion. The headline is simple: up to 5,000 Indian AI founders are being offered free, equity-free access to advanced training on Google’s AI tools and venture-building strategy.

In plain English: Google is not asking for any ownership of your company. You don’t pay. You just need to qualify. That alone makes this one of the most generous founder programmes ever offered to the Indian market.

How It Works

The programme runs in two phases.

Phase 1 is an online immersion held across four virtual sessions on 2, 4, 9 and 11 June 2026. Up to 5,000 founders, CTOs and technical leads can take part. It splits into two tracks: a technical track teaching Google’s AI Studio, Antigravity, and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, and a venture track led by Antler India covering investor expectations, fundraising, and how to build a defensible AI business.

Phase 2 is an exclusive in-person residency at Google Ananta in Bengaluru on 26 June 2026, but only the top 25 to 30 startups from Phase 1 are invited. This is where things get serious: live architecture whiteboarding with Google Cloud engineers, one-on-one strategy sessions with Antler’s investment team, and direct introductions to India’s leading AI founders.

Who Can Apply

This is not a beginner programme. Google has been firm, applicants must already have a live product in the market with verifiable user traction. Idea-stage founders will be filtered out at the application gate.

The deadline is 22 May 2026, meaning anyone interested has only days left to apply.

Why This Actually Matters

Antler India operates a $75 million fund and has already backed over 115 Indian startups. Google for Startups runs programmes across more than 140 countries. The combination puts Indian AI founders one direct conversation away from the world’s most influential AI infrastructure and one of the country’s most active venture funds.

For founders, that kind of access usually costs equity, time, or significant capital. This time, it costs neither.

Bottom line: While other countries debate AI regulation, India is quietly being upgraded. Google has just opened a door for 5,000 founders, and shortlisted 25 of them for what could be the single most valuable day of their startup journey. If you’re building in AI in India, you have one week to walk through it.
