Tamannaah Bhatia awarded ‘Young Icon Award’ at BAFTA in London

Baahubali star Tamannaah Bhatia was awarded the ‘Young Icon Award’, at Arts For India charity event held at BAFTA 195 Picadilly in London for her notable contributions in the field of cinema on the 31st MAY 2017.

She played the role of Avanthika, a Warrior Princess in the first part of S. S. Rajamouli’s fictional epic film Baahubali. The film received positive reviews from critics and Tamannaah was praised for her performance. The movie collected around (US$100 million) and eventually became the top grosser of Telugu cinema and third highest grossing Indian film.

The star-studded evening included academy award winner Shekhar Kapur, Director of the superhit film Fanna, Kunal Kohli, Games of Thrones star Laura Pradelska, Gemma Oaten of Emmerdale, Chinese actress Kunjue Li , Actor & Producer Sachiin Joshi with all proceeds going on to help underprivileged children get the education they deserve.

Tamannaah made her acting debut at the age of 15 in the Bollywood film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra. She has acted nearly 50 films in three different languages- Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.She is one of the highest paid actresses in South Indian cinema.

Speaking to Subodh Gupta, Editor Journalism News Network, Baahubali star Tamannaah Bhatia commented about Arts For India charity, “It’s a great initiative. Charity is something we all must do. I am very lucky to whatever I have and the least I can do is to give back to people who want to pursue something I have grown up wanting to do. Making dreams comes true, there is nothing better than that. I congratulate Satish Modi ji”.
